Well we have one thing in common at least. I hate them aswell. I was fortunate enough to have the where with all to pay off the loans as they came up on the house. The bank was very indignant. They wanted me to keep some sort of loan going -so you can do a tax deduction- Thing is the fees to them for a year are about half the tax deduction. I said that I didn´t want them to get me wrong but I didn´t want anything to do with them or most of the other banks either. They still tried to tell what was best for me and that point I said that I would be moving our funds from them (quite a bit of money). So in the end we shifted it all (all the banks try to make this difficult for you, I think it´s called cartell). I took the time, as I can´t work at the mo. Got the best deal of all the banks here (funnily enough GI money Bank) and shifted it. Think there is about 50p on the old one.
We did all our internet bills through them and as I have been very ill I wanted the mrs as joint holder so she could do the necessary every month. They wouldn´t do it. I know they could if they wanted to but the old bag I talked to was giving the same attitude. If we wanted a duel account we had to come into the branch personally and apply. New account. As they wouldn´t keep the old account on with all the e-bills payment as it were, I told them that we would be taking our custom to another bank. Kirsti had to do them all again, took a couple of weeks or so to get it all in position. We did it with an internet bank I have had for a long time. They were heplful with getting it sorted, even at 9 in the evening. We put it all on one of my accounts and asked for Kirsti to be named aswell. Done in a minute.
The so and sos get too big for their breaches and need pulling down a peg. When we closed the other account (Handelsbanken) I was asked by this biddy why I had made the decision. I said that that I tired of contributing to her and the chairmans wage, especially as I was talked to in a derogitive manner. Didn´t embarraser any more, just put the phone down.

I had a similar problem with the CLYDESDALE bank who i had banked with for 25 years [loans mortgages etc etc] . When i split with my 2nd wife they didnt want to know me , i asked for a remortgage so i could pay her off and keep the house and they refused . I went to HBOS and never looked back , in saying that i dont trust banks and never will.
