Here's an idiots guide (not saying you are one ) to putting photo's on here or similar forums.
Follow it and you should get there! Once you have done it once, its a doddle.
Firstly you need to have the picture hosted on the web somewhere. There are many free web sites which you can use like Imageshack, Photobucket, Flickr, Snapfish to name but a few so you need to create an account for yourself on one of these sites. Just Google “Picture Hosting” or "image hosting" and you will get plenty of options. (I use Photobucket)
When uploading you pictures from your PC, you will be given the option of saving the picutres at certain sizes to fit PC screens. Save your picture no more that 800 wide. This means it will fit onto the screen when you post your picture on the site.
Picture Hosting sites now realise that the picture may be going onto forums and most provide the correct code for this. (Photobucket provide this code). For pictures in posts, the code will have [img/] It will have a load of stuff in between, like this photobucket.com/pix1/i/200039/5/a/e/5ae467a2b5cf557fac0b186f5f295900_large.jpg [img/ ]. All you need to do is copy and paste this code into your post.
JOB DONE
If the picture hosting site doesn't provide the [img/ ] code for you, then you need to find your picture “http”. You can find this by:
1. When in your web hosting site, open the picture on your screen.
2. Right click on the picture and select 'properties'
3. The picture information will appear and the http will be displayed. It should look something like this - http:// image1.photobucket.com/pix1/i/200039/5/a/e/5ae467a2b5cf557fac0b186f5f295900_large.jpg
4. You need to copy and paste this http. To copy, left click and scroll the http information.
5. While the scrolled http information has been highlighted (normally dark blue), right click and select copy.
6. Your http address is now sitting on an imaginary clipboard on your PC waiting to be pasted in a moment.
7. Next go to you post. To insert your image, right click, paste.
Then scroll and highlight the http.
8. Select the Tag that looks like a picture frame and picture (under the S with a line through it)
9. The code [img/ ] will appear at either side of your http.
10. The image will appear in your post.
When doing this for the first time, it may seem difficult; however once you have done it a couple of times it’s a breeze!
Go on have a go! but remember to save them no bigger than 800 wide!
