Ok so after my rear light conundrum i came inside and decided to make some sausage rolls before i head out later to do some things, 10 mins later the oven makes a weird noise, cuts out and blue smoke pours out......... No lunch or dinner for me then, really bad timing as we have a wedding to pay for.......

Hi Alan Take it a new element for the oven wouldn't sort the problem for you? A whole new cooker seems a bit heavy.
Cheers Bluey

No idea bluey but the thing is ancient, been here since we moved in and it is some unrecognisable make, so just bit the bullet and bought a new one, I couldnt fix it myself and I think that by the time we paid parts and labour, would be just as well investing in a new one.
