I think we will struggle to match the view at South Queensferry, however I'm sure we can find a nice pub.
I'll have a think and make some suggestions.

Can I chip in a suggestion seeing as I lived most of my life in Cumbernauld. There is a very nice pub/eatery on the Forth and Clyde Canal at Kilsyth called The Boat House. If you go on Google Earth and type in Auchinstarry Loch, it's just south of there. Lots of parking (two areas, you could claim one) and long boats etc. boathousekilsyth.com/album/index.html

Which my last club wasnt Hi John, Meets tend to be either east at Hawes Inn on a regular basis. The same kind of meet hasnt really taken place in the west. The only reason I can think of arranging east and west meets is the central belt seems to have the core of the Scottish regions members. I'm not sure of your location (This can be added under your avatar in profile settings) but if there are enough members in the north and south, I don't see why they cant meet up at any time outwith other meets? Its early days for this forum and if anyone wants to arrange meets in the north and south, I don't see why not. I suspect only those in the north would attend north meets, and the same with the south due to distance and fuel prices etc.
